Student fee is based on mid-week travel with a minimum, total combined group size of 20 for programs operating in SPAIN. A small group supplement may apply if fewer. Travel during Holy Week or other prime holidays may be excluded.
DAY ONE - Flight to Spain Most international flights include meal and beverage service.
DAY TWO - Madrid Arrival Arrive in Spain's modern capital and transfer to your hotel. Join your courier for tonight's exploration of Old Madrid.
DAY THREE - Madrid Tour Morning sightseeing tour includes the Puerta del Sol, Cibeles Fountain, and the elegant post office. Visit the Prado to
view Goya's royal portraits and works by El Greco.
DAY FOUR - El Escorial/Arrival Segovia Homestay Visit El Escorial, a step back in time
to Spain's Golden age; plus somber memories at the Valley of the Fallen. Continue to Segovia, an important military post in Roman times. Transfer to your hotel. Homestay groups
will meet their host families.
MIDDLE CLASS HOST FAMILIES are selected and constantly monitored by the resident homestay director. Linguatur Internacional
is widely regarded as the most respected homestay organization in Spain today. Additionally, a native resident works directly with the Organizing Teacher and their students during the
homestay, thus ensuring a well coordinated, memorable experience. Spanish is spoken in the homes. Participants room with one other group member of the same general language ability. |
DAY FIVE - Segovia/Guided Adventures
Conozca Segovia walking tour includes the Roman Aqueduct, the Alcazar - romantic fortress of Queen Isabella - and the Gothic Cathedral, known as the “queen of cathedrals”.
Afternoon for interacting with your Guided Adventures or special activities as planned with your monitor.
DAY SIX - La Granja Countryside Tour
Your host families prepare a packed lunch for your full day countryside excursion: La Granja, built by Felipe V in imitation of Versailles, France, as well as the national monuments of Pedraza,
Sepulveda, and Turegano.
DAY SEVEN - Toledo Early morning departure to Toledo. Christianity, Judaism, and Islam
coexist on the tiny streets of this ancient city, once the capital of Spain. Visit the Church of Santo Tome;, the treasures of the Gothic Cathedral and the medieval Synagogue.
DAY EIGHT - Speed Train / Barcelona Early morning transfer to your AVE speed train to Barcelona. Enjoy the balance of today in Barcelona. Ride to the top of Montjuic Hill for a spectacular view of the harbor. Then visit Gaudi's La
Sagrada Familia and Casa Mila, commonly known as La Pedrera. Later, stroll through Parque Guell, one of the most intriguing parks in the world. The pavilions and main staircase, designed by Gaudi,
look like they belong in a fairy tale. Conclude with a stroll down Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter before your transfer to your hotel along the Costa Brava.
DAY NINE - ¡Exploremos! Explore the sites and relax on the beach or participate in an optional full day excursion along the coast to the Salvador Dali Museum at Figueres.
DAY TEN - Barcelona Departure Board your Barcelona flight for your return to the United States.
